The Three Eyed Lizard gets it's name from the dark brown spot on the top of the lizard’s head. The spot is not a "true eye", buy a small agglomeration of photoreceptors that don’t make out all the detail that the lizard’s two true eyes do, but can sense changes in light when predators pass overhead. These lizards are insectivorous and should be fed a wide variety of feeder insects such as crickets, mealworms, waxworms and more. A desert type habitat is best, preferably one with a UVB basking lamp.
